The starting of World War Two in Singapore ( 1 September 1939 )

The Second World War is also known as " WWII " or " WW2 " . It started from 1939 and ended at 1945 . It involved the vast majority of the world's nations . It was the most widespread war in the history , with more than 100 millions people serving in military units . The Empire of Japan aimed to dominate East Asia and was already at war of the Republic of China in 1937 , however the World War Two was generally said to begun on 1 September 1939 with the invasion of the Poland by Germany and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by France and Britian . From 1939 to 1941 , Germany formed the Axis alliance with Italy , conquering our subduing much continental Europe .
